In the morning it was pretty damn cold. Jamie and I packed up pretty damn fast and decided to go over to super Walmart for breakfast.
At the McDonald’s inside the Walmart we ordered 2 sausage McMuffins for $3 and watched the dopey kid behind the counter make our sandwiches with his dirty bare hands. Then while we ate, there were all these annoying flies that were all over our faces and our food. A 500 pound pile of flesh drove over on an electric scooter, tried to chat us up but we couldn’t understand him so we just smiled and he went away. We wondered what the hell is going on, but then Jamie and I just accepted that this is all part of the Walmart/McDonald’s experience and tried not to let it bother us.
Jamie and I stocked up on Walmart items while we were there. I checked out the $400 Walmart special laptop and got all pissed off. It was a piece of shit. I could just see myself throwing it like a Frisbee into a brick wall.  When we got back on the bikes and rode outta the parking lot, that 500 pound man came outside, except this time he needed crutches to stand up all his flab. He tried to wave goodbye and said something that we didn’t understand.

We crossed the Mississippi River for the second time. The sun never really came out today and the air was kind of hot and muggy.

We rode through this nature preserve that was 15 miles long. We kept seeing these gigantic birds. I failed to photograph them. Eventually we rode into some small town called Folley. When we got there we both felt like crap and took a quick nap in front of the convenience store.  Then Jamie jumped up and said I can’t sleep here. So we rode through town and he took a 1 hour nap in the park. I made some calls and talked about getting a new computer sent to me on the road.

The convenience store didn’t have any hot water for tea so we went across the street and made some. We didn’t wanna freak anyone out with our open flames and the gas pumps.
Jamie felt a lot better. We rode another 20 miles into the next town called Rice, Minnesota. We bought some food to cook and found this picnic pavilion where we decided to sleep. Luckily we picked up a really strong Wi-Fi signal at that picnic pavilion.  I did some surgery on my computer with my pocketknife and was able to work on my computer for a few hours without any problems.
We haven’t paid for camping in a really long time. ::checking the journal::  Yeah since we saw those kids from project pedal on day 31. That’s pretty good. Not paying for camping has made this trip a lot more interesting. It’s helped the budget tremendously and we’re a lot happier because it’s forced us to be more creative with finding places to stay. Most of these campsites aren’t anything special anyway.
